Rose’s 3 Top Tips For Not Overeating During Lockdown

When you are stuck at home all day, even if you’re working, or home-schooling the kids, or getting all those odd jobs done that you’ve always meant to, it can be difficult to not gravitate towards the fridge every half an hour.

Plan what you’re going to eat each day

Set yourself lunch and snack breaks even when you’re working from home so you don’t end up grazing on unhealthy snacks all day long. Plus, if you know you’ve got a delicious lunch coming up at midday, it gives you something to look forward to!

Organise what you’re going to eat AFTER you’ve done your food shop

You don’t know what you’ll be able to get hold of, or you may not have access to all your usual groceries, so plan what you can make with the food you can get.

Create a new meal once a week

Google, check out BBC Good Food, Jamie Oliver Recipes, our recipes or cookbooks, and challenge yourself to make one new dish each week. This is particularly useful if you can’t get your usual groceries and need some inspiration for those random store cupboard ingredients.
